On November 2, LACMA hosted its inaugural Business of Medicine (BOM) conference at the Westin Pasadena, drawing physicians and healthcare leaders for an impactful day of learning and collaboration. The event marks the launch of a Business of Medicine Series of events that will continue these important conversations into 2025 and beyond with webinars, meetings, and town halls.
Special thanks to LACMA President Dr. Samuel Huang, who opened the event, and to Dr. Tanya Spirtos, immediate past CMA president, for updating us on crucial legislation, including Proposition 35. LACMA Finance Chair Dr. Hector Flores led a powerful panel on health plans with distinguished speakers Erika Sockaci of Healthnet, Dr. Sameer Amin of LA Care Health Plan, and Dr. Nishant Anand, CEO of Altais Health.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without our generous sponsors. We are especially grateful to our presenting sponsor, the Cooperative of American Physicians, along with champion sponsor L.A. Care, advocate sponsor Aledade, and our partner and friend sponsors.
To all members and nonmembers who joined us—thank you for your participation! Your engagement inspires us to better serve the medical community. BOM attendee Dr. Jacob Korula invites you to complete an anonymous survey on the role of electronic health records (EHR) in private practice. Your insights will guide our future efforts.
BOM 2024 set a fantastic foundation, and we’re already looking forward to an even stronger BOM 2025!
