On Saturday, November 2, physicians from across the County are gathering in Pasadena for the inaugural Business of Medicine Conference & Career Fair, hosted by the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA). "I would like to personally invite all Los Angeles County physicians to attend this event," said LACMA CEO Gustavo Friederichsen. "We developed the conference in direct response to feedback from our physician members and will provide keys to mastering the business side of medicine. Attendees will gain real-world insights and access to impactful tools designed to help navigate the complexities of running a small or solo practice, reduce expenses, and boost practice efficiency – all while continuing to elevate the quality of patient care."

As the healthcare landscape becomes increasingly complex, many physicians—particularly those in small or solo practices—are seeking effective strategies to manage costs, improve efficiency, and continue delivering high-quality patient care. This conference aims to address these challenges by offering real-world insights and solutions tailored to the specific needs of today’s physicians.

"We're also very excited about fostering a dialogue between physicians and payers with our lunchtime 'Bridging the Gap' panel," added Friederichsen. “This discussion is just the beginning—we hope it will spark a series of ongoing conversations between our members and health plans throughout 2025, aimed at finding common ground to address key issues and develop actionable solutions.”

The conference will feature a dynamic lineup of speakers from across the healthcare and business sectors, covering essential topics such as payor contract negotiation, malpractice coverage, and integrating technology into practice operations. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to interact directly with solution providers, who will be on-site to answer questions and offer practical tools designed to streamline practice management and improve operational efficiency.

One of the conference highlights is a lunchtime panel discussion featuring health plan leaders, who will provide valuable insights on advocating for independent practices. Attendees will gain actionable advice to help reduce expenses and optimize their practice operations.

The Business of Medicine Conference is COMPLIMENTARY for LACMA MEMBERS and is designed to deliver impactful strategies that can immediately benefit physicians in their daily practice. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged to ensure participation.

For physicians looking to stay ahead of industry changes and improve the business side of their practice, this is an event not to be missed.
