In response to the devastating impact of recent wildfires, LACMA has taken swift action to support displaced physicians, their staff, and families. By forming a coalition with like-minded organizations, we aim to provide critical resources, guidance, and expertise to help our medical community recover and rebuild.
The newly established coalition will leverage federal, regional, local, and corporate resources to offer comprehensive assistance to those affected. From navigating insurance claims to finding vetted contractors and accessing funding opportunities, the coalition’s mission is to ease the burden for physicians as they rebuild their homes, practices, and lives.
As part of this initiative, LACMA will host the Fire Recovery Resource Fair in early to mid-February. This event will bring together experts and resources to provide tailored support, including guidance on practice restoration, financial recovery, and strategies to maintain patient care during the rebuilding process. Attendees will also have access to vetted contractors and professionals who specialize in home and office reconstruction.
“We recognize the immense challenges our medical community is facing,” said Dr. Po-Yin Samuel Huang, LACMA President. “Through this coalition and the Fire Recovery Resource Fair, we are committed to providing the support needed to rebuild stronger and more resilient.”
The event is open to all physicians impacted by the fires, as well as their staff and families. Details on the date, location, and registration will be shared soon.
LACMA remains steadfast in its commitment to advocating for and supporting physicians during this time of need. Together, we will rebuild and restore the strength of our community.
